259 State Street New Haven, CT - Downtown
Since its opening in 2002, the New Haven State Street Train Station has served downtown New Haven in only a limited capacity and largely serves as a Shoreline East terminus for CT Commuter Rail. Metro-North trains only serve the station on a limited morning and evening basis, with no midday trains to or from Grand Central between 10am and 3:30pm, no trains arriving or departing after 6pm, and no weekend trains.
The New Haven State Street Station is ideally located in downtown New Haven to serve the neighborhoods of Wooster Square and Downtown, which have seen significant increases in population in recent years. With the completion of the 360 State project, there are now also 500 public parking spaces available in a vibrant urban center directly across from the station, making it all the more accessible to commuters.
With residential capacity higher than ever surrounding the station, and a growing demand for more public transportation options, it is time to bring Metro-North full service to New Haven State Street Station.
1934-1940 Chapel Street New Haven, Connecticut - WestvilleThe Q Bus currently does not run later than 7:00 PM on week nights. This really does not work for folks who work in the restaurant industry, work late office hours, want to get food after work or have an after work event or meeting or want to attend evening events at City Hall. As one of the most popular bus routes this really needs to be improved. Please vote this up and share if you agree that the hours for the Q should be expanded.
14 Grand Avenue New Haven, CT 06513, USA - Chatham Square9:50 am School bus 708 driving in parking lane and on curb to cut in line at grand ave bridge. I saw others taking pictures. Reckless.
Concord New Haven, Connecticut - East Shore
Bus 485 stopped twice on his route today. On his way to Lighthouse with 6 people on board, he stopped in front of me while I was doing yard work and did some type of hand gesture. The riders seem perplexed and clearly noted his behavior. There is no bus stop in front of my house. No one got off or on the bus at that point. On his return trip, no riders but in front on my neighbor, I did not make eye contact with him so he beeped his horn until I looked at him. I would like a written response that you have spoken to this driver specifically. I would appreciate a written apology from the driver. If you need to speak to my neighbor, please let me know. If he harasses me again, I will want to meet with you so that it becomes a permanent part of his job performance record.
I will not be harassed by a state/municipal employee. I have asked the bus drivers to slow down. The speed limit is 25. They are often going well over 35. They drive down the middle of the road over the yellow lines and do not make a clear stop at the nearby stop sign.
That said there are at least 2 women drivers who do obey all of the laws. I will be sure to get their numbers so they can receive the recognition.
This has gone from asking you through several complaint forms to slow your buses down before they hurt a pedestrian, bicyclist or families on their walk. This is a residential neighborhood. But to go from being ignored to being harassed is one step past breaking the traffic laws.
Also as a separate issue, there is no bus stop in front of my house but drivers have been picking up passengers there. Can you please give them a reminder about bus stops. There are two less than on each of the blocks on both sides where they are currently stopping.
If anyone on COncord is interested, I am starting a petition to turn Concord back to a safe, residential street. You can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
99 Orange St New Haven, CT 06510, USA - Town_GreenThe new buses all have GPS and smartphone/credit card readers according to the drivers. When will we be able to pay by phone or card and track the buses?
Thanks much in advance. We are really excited for these upgrades.
Concord Street New Haven, Connecticut - East ShoreHybrid bus going 45 mph on Concord early this afternoon. I have had. it. I bought a radar gun and am shoting pics too. If this does not self correct we will find another way to slow them down. So sick of the non response of CT Transit.
243-245 Temple St New Haven, CT 06510, USA - Downtown
Four separate incidents with the driver on bus 480 this morning at 9:40 AM
1) he was speeding down Alden and tried to pass me while I was flagging him from a stop up pick me up in the street
2) he closed the door on a disabled woman's arm as she was leaving the bus.
3) he stopped mid block on Temple blocking the lane to chat with another bus driver at his stop.
4 he slammed on his horn at least five times to say hi to a friend then did to another person at the next block.
I've never seen this kind of behavior before by a driver on CT Transit.
Concord Street New Haven, Connecticut - East Shore
Bus stopping multiple times along Concord that are not bus stops causing traffic issues and placing pedestrians at risk.
Also not making full stops at stop signs.
250 Temple St New Haven, Connecticut - DowntownWhen will the posters with the old bus fares be replaced with newer ones. The old posters have the old bus fares posted... $1.50
27-39 Clifton St New Haven, Connecticut - Fair Haven HeightsAt the corner of Lenox and Clifton street. On coming traffic from Clifton street is blocked by overhanging tree branches. Besides the possibility of an accident, I'm also concern that a young child on a bike may not be seen in time to avoid being a casualty.
150 Cherry Ann Street New Haven, Connecticut - Beaver HillsClearly this is not a bus incident, but that's the only menu option my android phone is given. A large branch has fallen and is blocking the path from Jackie Robinson School to the "urban oasis" & playground next to SCSU. The gate there is locked anyway, but this could be and was intended to be a valuable ecological resource for the kids.
Willow St New Haven, Connecticut - Cedar HillNo lights are on on the ramps. VERY DANGEROUS! I reported 3 weeks ago and no action.
