I’m not sure this is the right category to put the same two, but I’m trying to report a dangerous intersection. I live on this block of Bassett Street and last weekend a driver came around the corner and smashed into my car. My car was totaled. I’ve noticed the whole time I’ve lived here that people have a tendency to come around the corner very quickly in spite of the fact that there is a school right at this intersection. I’m writing to request that the city put traffic calming measures in place for the safety of the children who attend the school and the children who live in this neighborhood

Inconsistent street sweeping signs.
On the same block of elm, same side of the street one sign says "no parking Wednesday" and one says Tuesday. Someone may get towed if they obey the wrong sign.

A tree branch has fallen in the sidewalk on Elm at Ellsworth. It's blocking half the sidewalk at the moment.

A wire is dangling in a residential neighborhood at a level that can easily be reaches by kids. I'm not sure it's live, but it may be since it is still attached to the grid.

This morning, the traffic light was out at the corner of Edgewood and Ella grasso. As I approached the intersection I saw a cluster of three police cars, but no one was directing traffic. One officer was reading the paper and the other two were having a conversation inside their cruisers. Meanwhile cars were passing through the intersection with no signal to protect them.

There is a ton of trash on the side of the road on chapel and orange. It looks and smells awful. This is a regular occurrence in downtown New Haven and it's disgraceful. I don't know who's trash it is, but there must be a better place for it to be picked up. Even having trash bins instead of just bags would help the situation.

This police car was parked in front of a fire hydrant on chapel St. All over town, police officers are speeding, running red lights and otherwise acting like they're above the law. THEY AREN'T. If a fire had occurred, this squad car would have been no less of a problem than anyone else's car just like a speeding cop car can kill just the same as anyone's car.

Yesterday morning around 8:30 when I was on my way to work a street sweeping convoy came up George street the wrong way without blocking off a lane. It was the morning rush so there were a lot of other folks driving in both lanes and we had to quickly figure out how we were going to get through without having an accident. The street is fine for two lanes, but too narrow to create an impromptu third lane going the wrong direction with four giant city vehicles. If this is standard practise it is unsafe and should change. If not, this group should be repremanded.
