Street Safety Concern AcknowledgedLincoln Ave & 6th St Alameda, California, 94501 - AlamedaConstant excessive speeding from Webster to Main Street in both directions. Speeds routinely from 45 to 60 miles an hour, extremely dangerous for pedestrians trying to cross Lincoln at 6th in marked crosswalk as well as residents pulling in and out of driveways

Street Safety Concern AcknowledgedBroadway & La Jolla Dr Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - Alameda
I am a resident on this stretch and see cars driving at wildly high speeds at all hours (sometimes inexplicably accelerating / drag racing) down this short stretch of road with high pedestrian and bike density due to the mixed residential zoning. This area has folks of all ages including our most vulnerable, including babies in strollers, young children and the elderly.
The city needs to urgently install speed bumps to control speeds the same way Bayview has speed bumps. Cars do not need the flexibility to go 30+ mph on this stretch of road. The same frankly applies to all of Broadway and Shoreline Dr, which have similar pedestrian density.

Street Safety Concern Acknowledged1206 Oak St Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - AlamedaThe city makes so many changes regarding parking and reducing lanes. Which in my opinion hurts Alameda. Park St. is ruined. How about making Oak St., Willow and Walnut one way streets from Encinal to Lincoln. That would be helpful.

Street Safety Concern Acknowledged1685-1699 Ferry Pt Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - AlamedaCars often drive on the bike lanes that leads to the Seaplane Ferry Terminal. There is no barrier to entry or signage that indicates only bikes are allowed near the intersection of Ferry Point and W. Atlantic Ave between the public restrooms and abandoned building. They are also able to easily drive over the wheel stops along Ferry Point.

Street Safety Concern AcknowledgedChapin St & Pacific Ave Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - AlamedaNeed stop sign a corner of Chapin and Pacific. Drivers turn off Lincoln to go down to Buena Vista and speed down this street. Cars go very fast. There are many 4 elementary age children (from 3 different homes) who walk to school who live on this street. It is very dangerous to have cars go fast at an intersection with a designated slow street/biking street.

Street Safety Concern AcknowledgedLincoln Ave & Park St Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - AlamedaHello, I was crossing the street, with a green light and pedestrian walk sign on, with my 1 month old in a stroller today on Park St at Lincoln Avenue, when I car raced in front of us to make their left turn onto Lincoln. This is not an issue of signage or lights or anything of that sort. This person saw us, and made the decision to race through the same crosswalk as us as quickly as possible right in front of us. One block from the police station. This is a public safety law enforcement issue. The problem is drivers feeling emboldened to disregard the rules of the road, and it's happening all over the island. I understand the police can't be everywhere at once, but it feels rarer than ever to see them giving out tickets. It sure would be nice if traffic laws were enforced with tickets for drivers who break them so there would be more deterrence against this kind of terribly unsafe driving behavior.

Street Safety Concern Acknowledged85 W Atlantic Ave Alameda CA 94501, United States - Alameda
Dangerous street conditions persist on W Atlantic with no action from the City. This morning, for the second time in 2 weeks a speeding car crashed into two parked cars and completely destroyed a street lamp. When is the City going to take action to address this issue that has been ongoing for 3+ years? Someone is going to get killed because of the negligence of the city government and city officialss.
We need speed bumps and i- street pedestrian yield signs at crosswalks to avoid entirely preventable tragedies. When is the city going to take this issue seriously?

Street Safety Concern AcknowledgedBay St & Lincoln Ave Alameda, California, 94501 - AlamedaI moved to Lincoln and Bay st from a different part of West Alameda about 6 months ago and since I’ve been here there have been quite a few accidents. I’d say at least 5. We typically hear screeching then a loud thud, it is very alarming that nothing is being done yet. The worst time was when a pedestrian was hit and flew about 5 feet in the air from a cross walk. Upon the ambulance and fire department coming , the fireman told me that I really should contact to city to see if there are any plans for this area ? because peoplee tend to speed down the street since there are no stop signs or lights for a while. This is simply an unsafe area and it is concerning how many accidents there are in the same location. Many neighbors like to frequent Island savoy market etc and support the local businesses here but can not cross the street in fear they will be injured, I myself have been almost hit quite a few times and have seen kids almost get hit daily, Please let me know if , what there’s anything I can do ?

Parking Enforcement Acknowledged1501-1899 Entrance Rd Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - Alameda
Now that Alta Star Harbor (Wood Partners) have been prevented from illegally establishing a commercial refuse collection point on Entrance Road (thank you city code enforcement for quick action on this!), there is no legitimate reason for the "No Parking 6am-6pm weekdays" on the parking spaces along Entrance Road between Buena Vista and Clement. This is not a loading zone and cannot be used as such with the current restrictions in any event.
I request that the city remove the posted restrictions to restore these badly needed parking spaces to standard available parking.

Pedestrian or Bicycle Access Issues Archived919-999 Santa Clara Ave Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - AlamedaThere is a new bench for the bus stop. It was bolted into the middle of the sidewalk and blocks our ability to walk by. This is a main thoroughfare for maya Lin walkers - today a wheelchair waiting for the bus blocked the remaining. Sidewalk and the kids had to wait for the bus to leave to walk around. It’s very unsafe and surprising how it was installed. Please come move this to the concrete next tot he curb not the middle of the sidewalk
