Motiva terminal is a critical infrastructure as it serves as a supply point for trucks picking up gasoline and diesel fuel. Potholes on the road leading to the terminal are deep and wide, and pose a hazard to the trucks picking up fuel. These are heavy trucks carrying petroleum products, a hazardous material, and these potholes pose a safety risk to them. Pictured is one pothole out of perhaps a dozen, some four feet wide, and very deep, which is hard to see since they're filled with water. CEMA, representing the petroleum industry, is filing this report on behalf of Motiva.

Thick smoke appears to be coming from the ship docked at the oil refinery (or maybe the refinery itself) and blowing into New Haven. It seems to be intermittent but incredibly foul smelling.

There are NO sidewalks on Woodward Avenue leading to Hannah's Dream, baseball fields & East Shore Park. There is a lot of construction here, why can't these kids get sidewalks to utilize the million dollar projects here?? It's as unsafe as those round a bouts!! UGH! Please help the kids of New Haven be able to use these wonderful parks. THey do no service to the community if the children from local schools & daycares can't access them safely. It's impossiable to walk thru the swampgrass without knee high boots on! The construction trucks have been there daily for a year-throw in some sidewalks!

Air quality in the city of New Haven is deplorable and has a severe impact on the health and quality of life of our residents. Despite the fact that New Haven already hosts more than its fair share of air polluting facilities, PSEG, the utility company who owns and operates Harbor Station, is seeking to build three new units as peaking power plants to be used when energy demand exceeds base-load supply. These plants will add pollution to our air in days when air quality is already at its worst: long hot sunny days when demand is high due to air conditioning and other uses. However, a net reduction in polluting emissions can be achieved from the site: the existing Harbor Station plant (Unit 1) runs primarily on oil. The three proposed, more modern, gas-fueled turbines are state-of-the art and run much more cleanly and efficiently than Unit 1. In addition, because of a new environmental justice law, the company has been talking to the city about a community benefits agreement that would address the true impact of their activities on our community. Please sign the petition to demand that Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG) commit to reduce polluting emissions from the totality of their Harbor Station operations and thus help improve the quality of the air in New Haven, CT.

apartment complex owners are renting out illegal basement apartment. there's water and black mold issues that landlord neglects to disclose to perspective tenants. there is only one entrance to the illegal apartment. there are no egress windows in bedrooms, if there's a fire there's only one exit in front of apartment. also apartment complex is not handicapped compliant or accessible. deck stairs are too steep and not to code. there are a few handicapped individuals here and have brought this to landlord's attention and he outright refuses to fix any problems. landlord will not allow handicapped tenants to install safety bars in bathrooms. landlord will not even provide handicapped parking spaces.
housing inspectors need to come and inspect all apartments for health and code violations, there are many in both complexes.

The Hannah's dream playground in East Shore park is a wonderful place that gets lots of heavy use by children. There are some large cracks in the play surface that I think are dangerous for kids. The gaps are 4-6 inches wide and a few inches deep running almost all the way across the playground. Running children easily slip into them and I have seen them fall on them. There is also an overhead climbing area across from the large swings that has some nasty sharp and rusty wire exposed on the rungs.

This area has been a disaster for I would say years! I sometimes take this shortcut off Forbes Ave. to get to Woodward Ave. faster. I have not been this way recently, but I would bet there’s more trash there. The weeds are a disaster also!
