I have a suggestion for the Yale Bikeshare program. I am a professor who commutes to New Haven on the train. I'd love to have a bike share pod at the New Haven train station or the State Street station that would speed my trip from the station to the campus and back. Right now, sometimes I just haul a scooter along with me, which is fun, too, but I'd rather share a bike.

This is a prime downtown spot. People transfer to and from the buses here. It's an obvious, necessary location.

Downtown West is a somewhat popular location and on the way to Westville. Popular restaurants and residential areas and the hospitals are all here.

New Yale bike has been locked to parking meter in front of 131 Howe for at least three weeks.

In general, these bikes need a better tracking system. I have seen them locked up for days away from their pick up/drop off points.

I haven't been able to find the bike pod at Gibbs Lab (location 3 in the list of pods). This is an important location since it serves everyone who parks in the lots nearby. I would use it every day, if I could find the bikes!

Hey Bike New Haven, just wanted to let you know that the bike share rules! Also, I'm testing the new Bike Share category in SCF to make sure you're being notified when Bike Share issues are reported! Please acknowledge, comment, and close to verify everything is working! Thanks!

Something must be done to increase the visibility of the bike sharing bicycle racks at the Chapel-York Garage!

I recently signed up for the Yale bicycle program, run by Zagster. Yesterday I reserved a bicycle online, and selected one that was located at the Chapel-York Garage. When I arrived at the garage I saw no signs of the bicycles. I asked the parking attendant and he said he was absolutely certain that there were no bicycles in the garage. He directed me to the Yale Center for British Art lot across the street (where there were also no bikes to be found).

In the other bike sharing locations, the racks are placed in a clearly marked and obvious location. In order to prevent future confusion and to ensure that people actually see the bicycles and want to use them, the Chapel-York Garage signs should be put up directing people to the racks.

Don't mean to be negative - I want to see the Bike Share program succeed, and believe in the "ounce of prevention" theory.

Has anyone reached out to the local Scrap Metal Recycling Yards, such as Alderman-Dow and SIMS regarding the Bike Share bikes?

As we know, we have a major issue in the city with metal theft for the purpose of scrap-for-cash. People are going so far as to steal the tiny covers on light poles, which are probably worth a fraction of a bike.

It could be helpful to provide laminated photos/posters to the Scrap Yards to help them identify whole or pieces of Bike Share bikes that are brought in.
Are there any identifying marks on components (frame, wheels, handlebars, etc) that are unique to these bikes?
