City Hall Saint Petersburg, Florida - Downtown Neighborhood Association
This is for the Mayor. When people use See Click Fix they are reporting issues they care about. As I understand the city purchased this App to make it easier to report issues and the city was interested in input from citizens/tax payers/your employers. Well when an issue is reported and nothing happens other then a notice stating "Complaint forwarded to Parks & Recreation Maintenance Staff." or something similar it sounds good, but when NOTHING happens and no actual real feedback is given to report back on the issue, one becomes a bit discouraged. If the city really wants and cares about people comments then you need to take them seriously. You need to have someone accountable for the reported issue and someone needs to actually hold those people accountable to address the comment/complaint and give that individual a report back. The police have started to do this well with the texting app. Why can't the city do this with SeeClickFix? Do you really care? It appears not, but please show us, the tax payers that is not the case. This can be a great platform (if the software were to function better) to help the city, but you can't just ask the citizens to do our part when the city is not doing theirs. I have reported the lights on during the day at Millennium Youth Playground many times. Please have someone actually do something. That something does not have to actually fix the problem, but don't just forward the issue on. Have someone by name state it will be fix, it is not approirity, or whatever the case may be. Then quarterly or yearly audit some of these issues/complaint and see how people are performing. Are they giving a response? Are they fixing problems. PLEASE make someone accountable. More than stating the issue was forwarded on is needed. Will this complaint just be erased by someone in city government that does not want to have to be held accountable? This is not too much to ask. Please, step up and make this program better. Thanks.

This filth is getting worse. it's just disgusting. he leaves his garbage. covers an entire bench with blankets and pillows then he leaves. No. He can stay. But let's get the mess removed. Really tired of looking at it now. Homelessness is not illegal. But littering and squatting is illegal. Please enforce the law.

St. Pete protestors have joined the ranks of those in New York, Chicago, Seattle, LA, Minneapolis with blatant disrespect for property and individual rights. Protestors creating their our rules without regards to citizens rights!
Where was SP law enforcement protecting the rights of those who where there to enjoy the amentities along Beach Drive. As a frequent visitor to SP and now resident of the Bay Area, we are sickened and saddened to see the city that we love and has been such an important part of our lives showcased in such an appalling and negative light.

Until we perceive more leadership from SP and willingness to protect the rights of ALL citizens, we will boycott SP and spend our $$$ and time elsewhere in the beautiful state of Florida! Love to hear from you and more than that we want to see more leadership! GKC49@aol.com

This sidewalk section is just east of the Regent Lane townhome community and in front of the Vinoy Electrical Sub-station. Location is in the middle of the 4th Ave N block between 1st and 2nd Street North. The address of Regent Lane townhomes is 145 4th Ave North and this sidewalk location is just east of Regent Lane.

The sidewalk is a dangerous concern that the city should address and resolve quickly if only from a liability perspective. I have often lost my footing here due to the uneven sidewalk but have avoided falling. There are a lot of people who use this sidewalk to walk down to Beach Drive. Many are inebriated and walking this stretch of sidewalk sober is challenging enough. Please even this section out before someone is hurt.

    Thank you.

Nasty, disgusting, horrible aroma of old urination spots that hover all day. This has not been maintained by ANYONE, and needs some serious attention. Ever since Williams park has removed the bus stops all the vagrants have migrated to this bus stop. Police are here all the time, and the situation is only worse. The shelter needs to go, and the benches need to be condensed down to 1 to 2 max not the 1p that are here, and the shade needs to go to keep the vagrants away from the stop. Regular bus transportation customers cannot even use the bench because it's overwhelmed with vagrants camping out. Not to mention the horrendous smell!

While sitting in a bank on beach drive a drugged out homeless woman came in and started to insult staff. She was asked to leave several times and eventually did.

A professional office on Central was harassed by a homeless person who eventually smashed a bottle right in front of their front door.

Residents cannot sit in peace on park benches due occupation by homelessness and their trash.

Sitting in restaurants outside means being interrupted every five minutes by panhandlers, some of who are very aggressive and target women and elderly.

A well known business had to remove an outside bench which was beloved by customers for years because homeless were sleeping on it chasing customers away.

This is happening more and more and infringing on our quality of life in the city, St Petersburg is at a cross road.

Cities that facilitate homelessness and pretty criminality through policies that appear to be "compassionate" end up being a magnet for more homelessness and criminality. Not arresting criminals, not prosecuting crimes, handing out needles and throwing sandwiches at them does not solve the problem, it makes it worse.

Will St Pete, our Mayor and our City Council learn from the mistakes of San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, LA, NYC, Sacramento and Newark or will we allow the same "Compassionate Policies" on homelessness and petty criminality to ruin our beautiful city as well?
