57–69 Granite St Malden MA 02148, United States - Malden Ward 6Something needs to be done about the amount of dogs running in the ball field at trafton park now. They are unleashed, fighting with each other and the owners are treating the ball field as a new dog park. It’s really damaging an already damaged field and preventing a lot of kids from going into the field to throw a ball around.
Forest St Malden, MA, 02148, USA - Malden Ward 5Sick and tired of the worst part of my commute home is when I enter my own home town. The roads are a joke. Other abutting towns are all upgrading and we can't keep our roads paved. Not leaving a number to contact me. Take a ride yourself and bring a hot coffee with no cover on it when you do.
31 Commercial St Malden, MA 02148, USA - Malden Ward 4This signal has been flashing yellow for several days. That creates a danger for people trying to cross to and from buses and Subway as they cannot call for a walk signal.
260 Main St Malden, MA, 02148, USA - Malden Ward 1Dear Mayor Christenson and Board of Health of Malden,
I’m reporting an environmental health issue an behalf of concerned residents from 260 Main Street Malden Mass.
Since spring 2019, our neighboring lot owned by National Grid has been constantly serving as a construction site and depository for excavated wastes. It’s understandable that this site is used for occasional temporary projects. However, due to their constant usage for many months and on, the noise and waste dusts pose long term health hazards to our residents here in especially to kids and elderly.
The excavated wastes are often stored here and the moved away before new wastes come again.
My son has developed coughing for over a month. According to his pediatrician, it’s not cold related but due to irritation from environments.
As a community we are very concerned about the long term impact on our health. Please look into this matter as soon as possible so that we can have it addressed.
Thank you so much!
Residents from Uptown Condo at 260 Main St Malden.

The Malden Recreation Department is offering a baseball clinic for BOYS ONLY, ages five through eight. This is illegal. In 1974, a court ruling forced Little League to allow girls to play baseball. In 2009, the NCAA determined that baseball and softball were NOT the same sport (they aren't), preventing its member schools from prohibiting girls from playing baseball by offering softball as an alternative. Rulings under Title IX now require schools to allow girls to play baseball, even if a school offers softball. So in 2020, by preventing girls from participating in a baseball clinic, even though it offers a softball clinic for girls, the city is committing illegal gender discrimination. It's not even a close call.
Even if it wasn't illegal, it's simply wrong. There is no reason to be segregating children this young on the basis of gender. For as long as anyone can remember, girls have played youth baseball in this city's Little League/youth baseball programs. Many have represented Malden in district all-star/post-season competition. They continue to participate. A few years back, a 13 year old girl with a 70 mph fastball pitched a complete game shutout in the Little League World Series. Nationwide, more and more girls are sticking with baseball, not switching to softball, and demanding their right to continue to participate in baseball at the high school level, and beyond.
That may be playing a role here. The city runs a girls softball program. The city does NOT run the co-ed baseball program. So is the city trying to funnel young girls away from one program and into another it runs by illegally restricting their opportunity to participate in baseball at a young age? That's not what youth sports should be about.
These clinics are a great opportunity for kids. Those volunteering deserve tremendous credit for stepping up to help. But the city needs to stop discriminating and denying the opportunity to participate equally in baseball to girls. Before someone at the city closes or archives this without seeing that the issue is corrected, they might want to refer this to the city's attorney to allow her to weigh in. That could probably save the city a lot of trouble down the road.
Also, to any parents of girls out there who would prefer their daughter attend the baseball camp: your child may. The city may not bar your daughter from participating.
Forest St Malden, MA, 02148, USA - Malden Ward 5FOREST STREET IS AN ABOMINATION! Too many potholes to count. Seriously. Three open threads on this site regarding it's condition and all assigned to DPW but no progress has been made. Multiple votes which mean others agree and are as disgusted as I am. The street is practically impassible. Please stop telling us to be patient and please stop telling us that the DPW is addressing the potholes. The entire length of the street needs PROPER repair. Filling holes with loose asphalt and rocks is NOT a solution. Placing orange barrels over holes is NOT a solution. These areas need to be dug out and patched properly. Perhaps Councillor Murphy can assist? She is a resident of Forest Street. Please City of Malden.... help us.
139 Forest St Malden 02148, United States - Malden Ward 5Forest street is essentially post-apocalyptic at this point.
87 Boylston Street Malden, Massachusetts - Malden Ward 7I have complained about this before and we had a cruiser one day stop people. One day just doesn't do it. As a resident of this city I expect more. School is bnb in session and kids are everywhere and we still have cars flying down the street with not as much as slowing down at the stop sign. Can I buy my own speed bump and put it in the street? At least this way I can ensure the safety of the children in this neighborhood since our city doesn't care.
Centre St Malden, MA, 02148, USA - Malden Ward 2I've submitted this picture before weeks ago, nothing has changed! At that time Ernie from parking told me the man living in this car has fallen on hard times and he would reach out to the director of the senior center in Malden to see if she could help. He's still living like this, along the public bike path, with families going past everyday, and he's urinating and defecating along the path. I've seen an industrial cleaning co. hose down the area so the city knows it's an issue. What is being done, what can be done for him? Nobody should have to live like this. Ty.
Wigglesworth Street Malden, Massachusetts - Malden Ward 1There is trash all over Bell Rock park, and it continues to accumulate because the city removed the trash bins and never replaced them. Every other public park seems to have trash bins for people's litter so why is this park an exception? The trash is blowing into neighboring yards during windy/rainy days. Please replace the trash bins and perhaps add a recycling bin - Malden forces its residents to use special trash bags to support its recycling program yet doesn't have a recycling bin in a highly visited public park?
