p. 4-23 A variety of striping is used around the island, whereas barely any paint is being used around the concrete island at this location. Note that I'm unable to determine why the traffic engineer determined that a raised island was needed at all in this location. There is now a middle lane and very clear sightlines in both directions. I don't see any compelling need for this island, but since it is there, it should be more clearly visible, particularly to southbound drivers. -

Many times cars do not obey/respect the crosswalk and many near-misses have occurred. Could a flashing pedestrian crossing sign be placed here on Vermack? (like the one on Chamblee-Dunwoody at Georgetown Park) Again, so many families and students use this walking to school.

Need to make a left to get on 285E. Something in the signalling was changed a few months ago such that there is no green left turn arrow in the normal sequence. Instead there is just a green light, yield to oncoming traffic, and at some random time this turns into a green left turn arrow. But the normal sequence should start with the green left turn arrow.
