Descripción

There isn't sufficient pedestrian signage at the crosswalk near Marino's Restaurant. Cars and trucks do not know to stop at this crosswalk until they are right on top of it. I've witnessed a lot of close calls.

The pedestrians on the walk way have a stop sign at the intersection with each road they cross. I was told by a police officer that the pedestrians DO NOT have the right away at these cross walks because they have stop signs. Of course, most motorists do yield to the pedestrians if you can see them coming out of the walk way.

I'd argue for less signage, and just keeping our eyes open when crossing the street. I use that greenway regularly. The bike crossing sign is superflous. Ped crossing should replace it. But to be fair, let's just look both ways before crossing the street and not inundate a greenway with excessive signage.

The police have clearly told me that the pedestrians DO NOT have the right away at those points. Thus the STOP signs at each crossing... Just look both ways before crossing and stop trying to make problems over a nice place to go...

After 4 or 5 years now this is still a very dangerous crosswalk, cars go way to fast.There has been numerous close calls many involving children

That is not a cross walk. The walkers have a stop sign on both sides. From the mouth of a state police officer. The walkers need to stop and look before they cross.

If it is not a crosswalk and the motorized traffic has the right of way the pedestrian STOP signs are absolutely necessary to assure pedestrian safety. Walkers very much need to be warned, and explicitly so, that in this particular instance they do not have the right of way.
