This is still an open issue, with Parks %26 Recreation working with the neighborhood organization to determine what needs to happen and who will be funding the repairs. They are checking the steps again, but the issues with the paths/trails is still an ongoing discussion.

Thanks for the update. I would note, however, that the pathways and steps present a potential liability/safety issue for the city, not the neighborhood association.

Now approaching one year on this issue, with no visible improvements made. Conditions in park continue to deteriorate.

With the improved weather, we are addressing the issues with the uneven steps. Issues with the paths are awaiting funding that can allow these to be addressed. We are searching for grants, but this is on-hold until funding can be identified. Thank you.

What is the status of this situation. Here is an area where erosion is getting worse. In thenext big rain storm and the nearby creek will be impacted. There is almost NO maintenance in this park!

The Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department pre-applied for state assistance to fund the repaving project in East Fisher Park for their 2014/2015 grant cycle. We were then denied an invitation to fully apply for the grant due to the fact that the park has no tie into greater trail/greenway network and would therefore serve only a small portion of residents of Greensboro. We anticipated this project costing the in the realm of $80,000. Greensboro Parks and Recreation has also made several annual requests for funding for this park though the normal budget process but to date no funds have been allocated. We will continue applying for grants as they come up and asking the funds in our next budget.

Understand that a grant may be needed for repaving, but the erosion of the pathway into the stream is a basic maintenance issue that needs to be addressed soon.

How about having a North Carolina Department of Corrections inmate work crew handle renovating all pathways and steps in Fisher Park or the Boy Scouts?

P&R will use rock screenings on the west park paths next year. They did the East Park this year.

The use of rock screenings should be reconsidered, they do not make the path much more smoother or level and the rocks get stuck in shoes and tracked indoors.

Thanks for the good work on the pathways, although GSO will have to repeatedly re-do them since any major rainfall washes away the gravel. It's just not a good long-term solution.

However, the erosion in one area (see photo in comments dated 2015-07-28 ) has NOT been addressed, nor have erosion issues around several of the bridges. This is only going to get worse

We will ask P&R to check again.
