This is going to be a major issue for riders during the Hawk Island Triathlon.

Effectively there is no bike lane there. You can't see the bike lane until you get to East Lansing. Therefore don't bother using it. You don't have to, it is even the law. To top things off, there are even tree branches on the "bike lane".

There is so much gravel, dirt and sand in the bike lanes on Mt. Hope that if you are biking at a decent speed you could easily lose control of your bike and wipe out. The road itself is so bad that eastbound traffic is driving in the turn lane rather in the appropriate lane.
