Thank you for using Improve Detroit. This sidewalk complaint has been referred to the City Engineering Department for investigation. Sidewalk repairs and replacements are completed only at the time when the street is resurfaced, during construction season. Our goal at the DPW Street Maintenance Division is to is to maintain the City of Detroit's roadways in order to promote safe travels within the City. Called city engineering dept a month ago. Spoke with a woman who said it’d be “looked into”. Still NOT fixed. THIS IS A PUBLIC SAFETY ISSUE that was cause by workers of the city or contracted by the city; therefore NOT my responsibility to fix. But if someone gets hurt, it’ll be an issue fir us all and you’re liable.

Still waiting… no one has contacted me, accepted responsibility, or fixed. The city approved the work to be done, the company dug up the sidewalk along my house to lay new underground cables (or something like that?), and in turn put a giant DEEP & DANGEROUS hole in the corner of my yard but it was NOT fixed when they reported the cement. Pretty hard to miss, as a grown man almost fell into it afterwards while walking
