Deskripsyon

There are 5 houses on my street that must use our dead end back alley to access our driveways. The potholes are now so big and deep that we can no longer drive around and I've almose lost my muffler. This happens every year. Just once, I'd like the City crews to actually blade to the bottom of the potholes instead of scraping the top 1/2 of gravel into the 3" = depp potholes!! What are my taxes paying for??

Update April 21, 2012...It's worse now than it has ever been. Better have a 4 wheel drive if you want to get home without losing your muffler! I invite the Mayor and Coun. Dionne to actually do something about this for a change!

I live on a grid road outside of PA. I agree grader operators must change their own blades because they sure seem scared to use them.

I own a bobcat and I used to go into the city for snow removal, landscaping and fixing drives but I stopped because of all the grief I got from the city and the unions. I remember a back ally just like yours and the people who lived there would toss a few dollars together and I would go smooth it out and fix their driveways for them but a few nasty letters from the city put a stop to that. The thing I don't understand is if the city won't fix the alleys then why do they get soo upset if someone else does?

the City won't do it, and they won't contract out

so what do you do?

send them the bill for damage, and when they refuse to pay, take them to small claims court.
they take your taxes and agree to provide certain services. a lane that won't damage your car, I'm sure, is one of them

As usua, the City scraped about a quarter of an inch of dirt into the holes, which lasted about 2 days. Now that winter is here, we're sstill bouncing all over the alley to try to miss as many potholes as possible and it will be even worse come spring! This is what I pay taxes for???
