The two owners are (semi-pro?) indoor soccer players who have played together for an Edmonton team, St. Louis, and Kansas City.
Mindless investment property.

PS- "violations" means groups of violations under one item by DNS, which can include (as it does in this case) a lot of specific parts of the structure that have to be repaired.

The tenant's not crazy, nor is the DNS. Who is the local manager? Remote landlording is what's crazy.

Thanks for the email, I understand your concern. I am actually struggling with what to do with my property. To be honest with you I am behind a couple payments and I am trying to set up a loan modification to make it work. If you know anyone that would be interested in purchasing this property below market value please spread the word for me. Its been 5 years and I am not sure if I can do this another 5. I know the negative impact a foreclosure can do and I am sure my bank would be willing to do a short sale as well
