Definitely call 911. From your report, the police will decide how high level a crime it is and they will make the decision on how soon to investigate.

Let them, now you, make the decision - so don't hesitate about calling 911 just because you don't think it's "an emergency" situation.

We have phoned 911 but this continues. One neighbor reported that there is drug dealing going on in the middle of the alley and that there is a group near where graffiti is now at that hangs out back there at night. This is new activity that has been going on for about three months. It was usually quiet back there. Lots of cars racing through the alley with people shouting at each other. Definitely a problem.

Please *don't* call 911 for non-emergencies. Call 311 and notify your alderperson. Call repeatedly if/as needed, but 911 is for dispatching emergency personnel when people are in immediate danger.

If you call 311 for a blocked alley, they will transfer you to 911. It's critical to keep alleys clear in case of fire, etc., which is why they'll transfer you.

Concerned Citizen, you might need to rally your neighbors to help calling on blocked alleys, suspicious behavior, and more. Please consider taking your concerns (with any documentation like times of day, descriptions, etc.) to a CAPS meeting. Yours are held on the last Wednesday of the month at 7:30pm, 5020 N Pulaski Road in the Mayfair Community Church.

Group from 4933 Monticello continues to block alley and use garage for suspicious activities. 911 called on Tuesday night.
