A year later and it's still a filthy mess, except now it spread to the entire lot from end to end. Disgusting and disgraceful.

9 months later and it continues to decline. Does the city contact owners regarding property issues? Are there any incentives that can help bring better businesses in to that plaza. Up till about 10 years ago when Adams was on the last grocer in the plaza it did well. I guess not that well if it closed. Now we have out second store that can only be classified as a flea market of new junk. Where is the intervention from city hall to bring in better business. What's everyone's view if a better business?

I pulled in to the lot lat weekend at the Campbell ave entrance and had to drive around cavernous potholes. Then when I was parking I pulled in to a spot that had glass across three spaces. I backed up and left. The breakfast place lost my business and I went to sunrise diner where the parking lot didn't have a piece of paper. The city needs to hold property owners to higher standards.

Who in the City of West Haven is responsible for cleaning up public areas? Nobody, apparently.

Hi Everyone, I see this issue was first reported in 2011. It is now September of 2014 and the Plaza is still disgusting. Entire Plaza not only needs to be consistently cleaned but needs an entire remodel. Do we really need 2 Dollar Stores? Come on West Haven. Please start driving in Positive Beach Front business

I am the original poster. If anything things have gotten worse. There is graffiti sprayed all over the back of the building as well as trucks parked thete. Cars with flat tires have sat in the parking lot for months. The sign for the parade blew down during one of the big storms and is still lying on the ground. The tiny alcohol bottles are all over. Why can't they put a return deposit on them so they aren't just tossed?
I gear the site of the soon to be demolished Debonair Hotel will possibly have retail on the first floor and residential above. Probably another liquor store and a dollar store. All the cosmetic upgrades to Campbell Ave and still no reason to go there either

Hi Cherfos. I live VERY close to this plaza and i know exactly what you are talking about. I agree, it really has gotten worse. day by day, year after year it is getting worse. I thought just MAYBE, Fresco would add some descent crowds and positive improvement to the plaza but they unfortunatly did not last longer then a year and a half. this Plaza should be one of the best looking plaza's in West Haven. It is the only plaza in West Haven that is so close to the beach and should look immaculate. Somebody has to re-design this thing. This is where the money should be spent. I only dream of a day it will look as nice as say the plaza in Milford where Whole Foods, Tengda and Plan B reside! The Home Goods store and Family Dollar have got to move out of this place. This plaza brings in nothing but trash. Sushi X is good and i don't mind the package store but everything else needs a refresh. Even the Subway that "used" to be decent has completely gone downhill.

This plaza is disgusting. The only solution is a wreaking ball. Has anyone noticed that the sign next to the entrance by the church is rotted and broken?
