Congratulations on Closing the Car Wash sign issue
Maybe just maybe this sign will be fixed or replaced. City staff failed to tell us exactly when the application started or when it will be finished. The car wash has been gone a long time. I thought abandoned signs were to be addressed in one year.

I was wondering.............................
.When the city says;
"The renovation of this sign is part of a remodel plan that has been submitted and the city is reviewing. If the owner/investor does not pursue the remodel, then the sign will be addressed separate"
How long will they take to "review" a remodel plan?

for the existing car wash located on Lot 1, Blk. 1, MMR Add’n., located in the “C-3” Commercial District, containing approximately 0.4990 acres, locally known as 5403 E. Belknap St.
Mr. Pliska reviewed the case.
Mr. Pliska said that the legal notice was published in the April 2, 2010 Fort Worth Star Telegram, and ten (10) property owners had been notified. Staff has received three (3) written responses in favor of the request, zero (0) opposed and zero (0) returned.
Commission member Jones asked if FEMA monitors these variances and if there are few that get approved.
Mr. Ice said yes FEMA monitors these closely.
Commission member Pinkerton asked if this stays with the property if sold.
Mr. Ice said this is approved for these improvements only. Any other work would need to come before the Commission again.
Mr. Hedgcoth, Engineer, said there hasn’t been a flood in this particular area since ’89. In the late 70’s Mr. Markum owned this property prior. This will help beautify the Belknap corridor
