Not really -- trimming and squaring off still left it encroaching on about 30% of the sidewalk, which is not insignificant.

As you can see, it needs to be cut back much more so that the sidewalk is completely clear and baby strollers, kids on bikes, couples walking side by side, and more can get past without being pushed onto the street.
