The whole intersection of Broadway Terrace and Hermosa Ave up to Buena Vista Ave is like driving through a war zone. Whichever contractors leave the road that poorly patched should be denied permits in Oakland. The city officials responsible for overseeing the repairs should be fired, ground up, and used as fill to even out the road. If the road was never paved in the first place it would be better than it is now. How many tires, rims and suspensions does the city have to pay for before someone wakes up?

I live across the street from the Village Market/cafe/nursery on Broadway Terrace and our family has been putting up with traffic banging against the concrete seams as cars barrel down it for the last quarter-century. Now the stretch between Hermosa and Buena Vista is even worse, thanks to the temporary patching of the sewer trenches. It certainly FEELS like the right time to get the whole job done correctly if there was a way to circumvent the 85-year maintenance schedule.

I live on Harbord Drive, just up from Broadway Terrace and I am tired of Broadway Terrace being so bumpy and uneven from all the work that has been done over the past months. It isn't just unpleasant to drive on, it is not safe for bicycles and I'm sure it results in wear and tear on cars and tires. It was my understanding that all this work was to be completed by September, so it is past due. This needs to get fixed as soon as possible!!!

Agree. Broadway Terrace is unsightly and totally unsafe. Given all the extreme repair work has been performed, this road should be elevated out of the 85 year repair cycle, which was meant to address normal wear and tear. It is totally unacceptable for this horrendous repair job to exist. I do not understand how the contractors are allowed to disrupt our lives for as long as they did and then just leave. Why are they not forced to repave the road?
