The people on the service drive are supposed to be going slower since they're already in the construction zone.

Maybe you need to brush up on your rules of the road raw.

so its ok to be going 60 mph when you get off the freeway? I live off service drive and the people getting off the freeway do not slow down to let you have a chance to get in. Where i am talking about there is no construction zone

Many motorists exiting from the area expressways do not slow down to the surface street speeds until they are well past the end of the exit ramp. This makes it very difficult for those on the surface streets to judge their speed and allow them to exit safely. Slow down to a safe exit speed before you enter the surface streets and it'll go more smoothly for everybody. The opposite applies for those entering the freeway. Get your butt moving and enter the flow of traffic at a speed approximately equal to the vehicles on the freeway. And if you are on the freeway and see a vehicle trying to enter it just makes sense to move over to the next lane when possible and allow them to enter safely.

A yield sign is not a stop sign, we are not supposed to stop to let you get off the freeway still doing 70. I live right off this exit and people fly off the freeway. If there is time for me to get over while you are still on the ramp im going to.

Also, completely agree about merging onto highways. I can't tell you how many times I've seen idiots SLAM on the brakes to wait for traffic.

"Signal and check for freeway traffic by using the vehicle’s
rearview and side-view mirrors and quick glances over your
shoulder. Choose a safe space to enter and then merge into
traffic. Traffic on the freeway has the right-of-way. Do not count
on other drivers to let you in."

This is why I drive a piece of crap vehicle. I just put the horn on and move on over. The smarter ones get out of the way.
