World's deepest pothole still there. That's a regular traffic cone, all but 6" disappearing in hole.

The City of Oakland Public Works Department has received this issue. It is registered as service request # 528544. Thank you, in advance, for your patience as we work through a backlog of pothole service requests. Unfortunately the City does not have enough funding to repave all streets in poor condition. With limited funding, our response to resurfacing requests is limited to minor pavement and pothole repairs only. Our Street Maintenance Department will assess your street and determine whether temporary measures might be appropriate. Please understand that this work may be limited to pothole or other minor repairs, and that we have many similar requests. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner. The backlog of streets in Oakland needing pavement currently is $435 million and growing.

This looks like one of the hundreds of failed sanitary sewer street patches. Code enforcement who is required to inspect all of these jobs needs to to be held responsible for this. House cleaning time oh I forgot we cannot let anyone one go no matter how useless( incompetent ) without a huge payout at the taxpayer expense $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I would love to have that job! The need is evident everywhere in Oakland as contractors fail to finish their jobs in a workmanlike manner. Typical for Oakland not to act early and prevent a problem, but wait to expensively "fix" the result.

The contractors are only saving a small amount. The cost of the gravel required by code to refill the hole is very little compared to the overall cost of these jobs 6 to 20 grand. We had our sewer lateral replaced last year $ 6700. The depth of the our sewer main was 16 feet normal is 10 to 12 feet. High bid was over $20.000. My concern is if these contractors cutting costs on the gravel where else are they cutting corners. The only time I saw code enforcement on my job was to come out to glance down the hole with flash light and then spent 45 min BSing with the EBMUD inspector. They both declined to go down the hole and inspect the the. Shamefull what are the code enforcement inspectors really doing????

PWD time to start providing photo evidence that the repair was done. But as a tax payer why are we paying for a repair that the cut rate sewer contractor created. The city needs fine them and make them repair it and pay to have code enforcement there to see that the job its done right.
