Sorry, this problem has not been addressed, and your solution is inadequate. The only solution I will accept is the simple correction of the hazard that is endangering lives in our city daily. The city's refusal to address the issue does not deter me. When an accident happens there, and the city says, "We didn't know," we will have this documentation to prove that they knew of the situation, and refused to address the problem.

This is what I like about this site. If I go to Ask Arvada as the city would like, they would instantly mark the request as "closed," and do nothing about it. At least here they cannot close the service request until something, anything is done. If nothing else, everyone, including neighbors, will know just how ineffective the city is, especially when problems remain unresolved for over a year- maybe two years or more - we'll have to see.

I am surprised both by the city's refusal to address this problem, and that there aren't more accidents at this intersection. I guess that's what it's going to take to get the city to look into thing - a lot of accidents, and injury.

It makes me so sad to live in a city where I pay taxes, where I work, and where I volunteer, not to be able to get any kind of positive response on any issue regarding enforcement of the law. I understand how a city can be busy, but, in a city of this size, it certainly seems acceptable to expect an issue to be addressed within a year's time, even if the response is the negative, disrespectful snub this city usually responds with. It is sad to know that the only matters of the law that are important in this city are what the city decides are important, when they decide they are important, and on whom they should be important. I guess it is important for citizens to know that they have no voice unless the city allows it, and unless the city decides that they are important enough to be heard. The rest of us must just deal with problems on our own as if no law existed.

If you haven't figured it out by now, this is the way the city handles its problems - "If no one died, then everything is OK, and there is no reason do anything else, not even acknowledge any complaints."

The problem is the city itself, and the agents they've chosen to represent them; agents who feel they have the right to pick and choose which laws they will enforce, which they will not, and on whom. ALL of code enforcement needs to be fired, and the entire department re-staffed.

I know of no attempts to address, or correct this problem at all.

I have seen no indication that this problem has been either acknowledged, or addressed.

The city won't do anything until there are enough accidents, or someone gets killed. Anything less than that is acceptable to them.

The city has a policy of being "reactive," instead of being "proactive." That just means nothing is going to happen until there is an accident, and, then, only if someone is seriously injured or killed.

This has become less of an issue since the shopping center in question is fenced off for construction. This is a prime opportunity for the city to address the problem, and devise a solution. I'm going to leave this open, and see what happens.

This is especially problematic with increased traffic, and decreased patrols. I just stay away from the area.

This is a nightmare in poor engineering, and poor law enforcement. Fortunately, the shopping center here is being demolished in favor of new construction. The city will have the opportunity to fix the problem. Let's hope they take advantage of it.

You do realize that the City of Arvada pays no attention to this page at all - the same way they pay no attention at all to code, code violations, and those who report code violations. They are the single judge of whether or not a code has been violated, and by whom. The law does not apply equally to all.

I'm going to leave this open as a reminder, but the problem has been solved; just not by the city. One of the shopping centers is being demolished, and, thus, there is no reason to fix the problem now. I am anxious to see how it ends up in the new alignment once the shopping center is finished.

Although I have given up either reporting law violations in this city, or expecting anything to be done about them, I will leave this complaint open, and continue to leave it open as long as necessary.

I hope people reading these comments see just how incompetent, and unconcerned the City of Arvada is in regard to enforcing city code. They may enforce it from time to time, but it is plain to see that they just can't be bothered in some cases probably depending on whom the violation is reported, on whom is reporting the violation, and which violation we're talking about. In other words, they get to decide when, where, and on whom city code is enforced.
