What I saw today. The crossing guard for the kids and adults leaving Hazardville Memorial School were at risk of getting hit today.
As I do not know why a school bus would be wanting to turn into the car line up entrance I essence taking up 4-6 car availabilities but it was stopped on North Street waiting for cars to move so it could turn into the driveway with 4-6 cars waiting behind closely pulled to the side of the street with some right turn blinkers on. Yet 3-4 others were waiting for traffic to clear coming from the opposite direction so that they could pass the line up on the left.
Well the crossing guard was doing her thing with her stop sign but was only 3/5 of the way out in the single lane that the bus was in. No looking at the second lane from the opposite direction for traffic that might have been coming, only several people crossing over both lanes and not even looking themselves for opposite oncoming traffic. Now the crossing guard was with her sign in the middle of the front of the bus. Her sign was not even visible for west bound drivers to see.
Now the first car did inch up and saw what and where the crossing guard was along with the walkers and stopped which stopped the others behind them for the walkers.
The crossing guard was oblivious to what could have happened.
A little more education for the crossing guard.
That would have been a big liability for the driver, the crossing guard, the bus driver and company and the town.
Please either put an officer there to direct traffic in the mornings and afternoons of school or have the crossing guard do her job much better.
Thank you.

Secondly, the whole traffic situation with Hazardville School is ridiculous. EPD/Town seems to think the answer to any traffic problem is put up a sign that EPD won't enforce so, the purpose is??????
The situation requires traffic control, not signs and a hope people will comply.
