Deskripsyon

This traffic light allows just 10-15 seconds for neighborhood traffic, but 3-4 minutes for Woodward traffic. The traffic flow allows for more frequent signal changes, while keeping them short. I know, because I sit at this light every morning, 5 days a week.

Woodward Avenue is a state highway under the jurisdiction of the Michigan Department of Transportation rather than the city of Ferndale. Please contact MDOT's Oakland Transportation Service Center at 248-451-0001 to report this issue.

Ms. Butash: Please contact MDOT at the contact number listed below. The more residents who contact MDOT to address the issue and explain their personal impact, the more likely it is that MDOT will consider modifying the timing of the street light. You may also complete the form at this link: http://www.ferndalepolice.org/assets/docs/forms/traffic_control_change.pdf to request a traffic control change through the Ferndale Police Department. Although the city does not have jurisdiction over Woodward Avenue, if you submit the form perhaps the police department can notify MDOT of the request.

I contacted mdot about this light as well and no change has been made. Perhaps if the "no turn on red" sign was removed traffic could move faster by doing the Michigan left around 8 mile Rd.
