We are calling several neighbors but we do not have enough codes people
to handle. This entire area is a huge mess. We need help

Hi...may I ask you a quesiton....have you actually called the Department of Codes and Building Safety for assistance? Our procedure is when we receive a call or a request about a code violation, the first thing we do is ask for the address. We then look up the locaiton in question to see if we have an open or pending case. If not, we will enter in the request, ask you for the specific code violaiton, and once entered it is assigned to the Inspectors Daily Worksheet for inspeciton the next day. We do have enough Inspectors to make inspections.....but if you are asking for an audit of your neighborhood, that will have to be scheduled with the Assistant Director. I wil be more than happy to assist you, and if you could email me directly at karene.west@nashville.gov and provide me with the locations in need of inspection, I can assure you that each property will be inspected and action will be taken until full compliance. also, out Codes On-Line, which I provided the web link to is such a wonderful resource for citizens. Allk they have to do is enter in the address, violaiton, and it wil be inspected, and then you can also check the status of youjr request online. Hope this information helps. Karene
