Hi Dclearwater, With all due respect for your concern I'm wondering if these bins are being used regularly. What I'm asking is, does someone walk the trash and recycle materials out to the bins as needed? If so, it sounds like an unusual method, just curious.
My neighbor's were left at the curb quite often because he is handicapped and his home health aides are the ones who take them out to the curb.I went over one morning after pickup and brought his Granger bin up to his garage and the aide that was there apologized and said because there were SO many of them in and out..no one was good about keeping track of what days what bin was actually picked up so they were leaving them curbside and bringing the trash out to them when they finished up their shifts.Made sense to me so now I don't touch the bins.
My neighbors are not older or incapable of removing them. They just are renters that don't care that live in a house that the owner has no standard for who lives in his homes. . Thanks
We run into the same thing on the street where I live. Not only do a couple houses leave them at the curb, but many times they are in the street.... I find that usually it is tenants that are renting, but not always. The guilty ones on this street are both VERY capable and not renters, so I'm assuming they're just lazy........... I, myself, have health issues, but I hire a neighbor or catch a friend to take care of mine & have them off the curb before nights end. We have reported them several times - 2 homes have begun to comply - one to go (their containers have been at the curb, or in the street for 2 months straight). Code Compliance has told me they ARE trying to come up w/ a viable solution. I think that perhaps fines should be assessed to the "Slum Lords" it they can't inform and see to it that their tenants comply with City Ordinances. They don't seem to care what their tenants do as long as they don't have to live near them.
Good to hear people talking and not ranting. When we share ideas about our individual neighborhoods and how we cope with frustrations we all make it easier on each other. Guess we'll always have neighbors who make us a little crazy and always have some who could use our help. Also, "Weariness" after viewing an issue in my neighborhood today I wanted to change my name to "Weariness2", as in "too"/"also". When some just don't seem to care or others get punitive over minor issues, weariness is the word that comes to mind!
Same problem on Cawood. It is definitely the renters. I have to notify the City several times before it's resolved when I do complain. Weary is a good word for it, I feel like I don't want to fight it anymore but I will get into another spurt of energy and take it on again eventually. It is ridiculous.
Thank you carol. They did remove them from the curb this week and put them right up against the front of the house but at least it's not at the curb ;)
