How do you see this progressing, Rocky? It reads as if you want to approach the owner.

I stopped in once or twice but no one was there. Maybe leave a note? Maybe it's their idea of art and they paid extra for it. Looks to me like same scribbles that were left here and there all over Lansing a year or three ago.

This business will probably remain abandoned and neglected until next summer. Let's find out who the property owners are express our concerns to the city. I have posted on this business several times for being an eyesore to the entrance of our neighborhood.

What is so offensive about what is written on the truck.I'm not able to READ it but it at least looks like interesting script.Does it belong to the owner of this property?Guess I'd start there and see if it is even ok for it to BE there.If it is ok with the owner....that is a commercial area..how can we complain about vehicles being parked there?

I don't think it's a matter of being patently offensive like say a bunch of F-bombs, the truck bears just the "artist's" NICKname... but it kind of encourages that wort of thing all over the place, typically on say city property such as traffic light control boxes where Mr. Nick "NEDS" De**an was quite prolific in the Edgewood Bldv area around 2012-2013. Many photos were taken of that crime spree. I see Mr. ASIS has work [with far more effort into it] on the Cadillac Club redo.

I too am wondering what the problem is? The script is someone's name not a foul word. The truck is sitting on four inflated tires as though it is maintained, so not likely to be classified as "abandoned/inoperable, and yes, it's parked in a parking lot. Doesn't look like there's a sword to swing here...I did notice this evening this same complaint and same pic is newly entered into clickfix. Some one wants a reaction of some kind.

I did post it a second time under a different classification, "abandoned vehicle", and noted that the original posting went up on 9/14. This truck has not been moved since that date as far as a can tell. This business is empty ten months of the year and has had previous postings for trash and tree debris from the ice storm. It doesn't make our neighborhood more attractive.

One of the problems of this sort of scribbling is that it fosters more of the same. Mr. N*DS has spread dozens or more of his poorly executed bits here and there- currently one at the base of the Lugnuts smokestack. Lately in the Miller Road and Cedar St. are we are seeing a spate of even less "artistic" [if that is possible] "FU" scribbles- Electrical boxes at Coulson and Miller, at Kaynorth and Miller, Cedar and Miller, on buildings on Kaynorth, and even on the very road itself- ~200 East Miller and around 320 East Miller. Oh, and on a city Rubbish Receptacle. Black blobs on the signs at Gardenia and Miller. The light control box at this intersection has been an obliteration of "SNAK" graffiti for years now... maybe the city can go ahead and paint it properly.... real soon now.

Graffiti CAN be art, Hugh has provided instances where it deffinately is NOT. Art should be sanctioned, that is the line we have to draw between random graffiti and art. If it isnt authorized, it instantly becomes vandalism. Placement is crucial, if it is sanctioned, it is semi protected. If you disapprove, so be it, but it IS protected. Vandalism isnt.

exactly. Perhaps a city representative can look into whether this is the owner's idea of sprucing up the place or another one of Nick Deagan's vandalisms that has simply been tolerated due to laziness.

I live in the area and pass this spot often when I walk the dog.I have NEVER seen anything wrong with it and there is nothing offensive about it.It simply appears to be a truck that is too large to park in a neighborhood driveway and it WOULD be more of an annoyance there..so parking it on this lot seems like a good idea.Besides the fact that we are ALL middle to low income residents In this area and I see NO reason to cause expense or problems for a person who appears to be simply parking his truck.In all the months since it was first brought to this site..it hasn't become a less cared for truck..it is licensed..tires are inflated.Instead of advancing into some FUTURE "might become a problem" issue on this..can't we find issues that currently ARE problems because THIS one just is NOT a real problem.On the corner of Cedar and Willard is a lot with several vehicles facing the street with FOR SALE signs on them.It is not a car lot but they aren't bothering anyone..so I see NO difference with THIS lot.

Yes, but "NEDS" has a habit of painting all over things that do not belong to him. QD trucks as seen from the Cedar St. overpass... the building at the base of the lugnuts stack... and 100's of other places just here around Lansing. A little 1-man crime spree he is. Quite prolific. So, go ahead and tolerate it, and then enjoy more and more of it. Maybe your garage door will be next.

What IS written on this truck?Can anyone read it?

This truck does NOT look "vandalized".I'm sorry I appear dense to you but I REALLY do NOT see what is so terrible about this truck.Things aren't hanging off of it..it does not have flat tires..it has current license plates...he's MILES ahead of the guy on my street with 8 vehicles packed into his driveway that NEVER move out into the world because only ONE is licensed.
