Thank you Town of Kearny for addressing my concerns for 197 Laurel Avenue. I need to bring up another issue that has been brought to my attention. We have a senior citizen on one side of this house and children (minors) and a 7 mouth old baby on the other side. Having a structure like this brings many things to our close proximity, such as feces, asbestos, lead particles and AIR BORN MOLD. The standing water in basement breeds mosquitoes and other insects. The overgrowth harbor mice, rats, stray animals and other vermin. Many diseases, particularly West-Nile Virus, Rabies and various Parasites blossom and overtake this type of environment. This eyesore has decreased the value of homes. This is an absentee owner, I am asking for the Town to start giving this owner penalty fees and "DEMOLUTION by NEGLECT" proceedings. Winter is coming fast and everyone has given this owner enough time. How much longer can this stay like this? it is wrong, unfair and we as neighbors are tired of this. Please post your answers and what steps are being taken, so all could read. Thank you for your time.
