Description
This crosswalk was installed to replace the pitiful temporary crosswalk about 40 feet east, which has been removed.
See Issue ID: 11865134
There is absolutely no signage to warn approaching drivers.
At Pavonia & Homestead there is a Rectangular Rapid-Flashing Beacon (RRFB) installation that pedestrians can actuate when they want to cross Pavonia Ave.
There are two signals, one at each end of the crosswalk, which have yellow LED lights to warn oncoming vehicles. A button is mounted on each pole below the beacons and signs.
Both sides normally flash when either button is pressed.
RRFBs and signage should be installed at this new crosswalk.

The roadway expands to 3 lanes at Pavonia & JFK Boulevard.
The pole could be used to mount an RRFB and signs on the north side of the crosswalk.

NOTHING has been done by JC Traffic, not even an acknowledgement.
In the intervening 4 months, only the sign at the northwest corner of Pavonia & JFK Boulevard was removed. The stupid ROAD NARROWS sign is still there.
At Pavonia & Homestead the Rectangular Rapid-Flashing Beacon (RRFB) installation has become unreliable because the Journal Squared buildings block the sun for the solar panels. See Issue ID: 13768559

JC Traffic is now considering hard wiring the RRFBs and eventually installing a raised crosswalk and HAWK signals at Pavonia & Homestead.
The new crosswalk at the bus terminal gets more sunlight and the RRFBs should work there. Why is nothing being done for this crosswalk?

Answered, but never followed up on.
the last response was over a year ago. Has anything changed? Was the sign removed?
We have other issues opened for this intersection. I would like to mark this as a duplicate, not because they are the exact same requests, but to tackle the whole intersection as a whole.

Althea,
This crosswalk was installed during the construction of 9 Homestead Place AKA 618 Pavonia Avenue when the sidewalk was closed for construction.
It was painted over with black paint after the north sidewalk was re-opened.
Pedestrians on the north side had to cross here to the south side of Pavonia, walk east and then cross back to the north side at Homestead to get around the construction site.
The misleading ROAD NARROWS sign is still there and should be REMOVED!
