Thank you for contacting UDOT. We reviewed your last request and would like to offer a more thorough explanation of where we are at with the timing of this intersection. In response to your last request, we moved up the PM timing patterns to begin a little early. We also double checked all detection, and tried to look for some places where we could squeeze out a little more time to give to the Northbound left.
Unfortunately, we are maxed out at every approach at this intersection. With the recent completion of multiple projects on Bangerter Hwy, this intersection now becomes one of the only stopping points for traffic travelling North and South. We must prioritize the Bangerter through traffic for optimal flow and safety.
There is simply no more time to give to this movement without negatively affecting the rest of the intersection. This will likely be the case until 13400 S and Bangerter also becomes a grade separated interchange (like those North) starting next construction season. Waiting multiple cycles will be expected here at parts of the day, but we can assure you that the signal is operating as intended.
We also recommend looking at Waze to check if there are alternate routes you can take for the busier parts of the day.
If you have any more questions or would like to discuss this further, please reach out to our Signal Desk at (801)887-3700. We are staffed M-F, 7am-7pm. Thank you.
