Descrição

Myself and others believe that a 4 way stop sign should be at intersections E. Davie and Haywood, and E. Davie and Swain. Drivers routinely speed through here with many children at play. there is a hill at E. Davie and Swain that blocks visibility to the other side of the hill. I live at 620 E. Davie and have a baby that should soon feel safe about crossing the street when the time comes as well as me, the parent. Please advise what to do if I need to do more work to make this happen.

I strongly agree that a stop sign needs to be put in st these intersections. Many people speed by every day and it is extremely dangerous

There are playgrounds and dozens of kids playing out and around these intersections with people flying by-so dangerous!

Exactly....that apartment complex constantly has children outside playing. they should be looked after!

You citizens should look to the City to request a traffic calming study. It's free. Look up Tom Fiorrello who is in charge of it. My neighborhood has jumped onto this resource.

We have reviewed Davie Street at Swain Street intersections. There were some issues involving vehicles not stopping at the stop sign on southbound Swain Street so staff upgraded the stop sign and advanced warning sign to high visibility retro reflective grade signs; as well as adding stop bars to Swain Street. Davie Street at Haywood Street has not had any collisions at the intersection in the last 3 years; therefore there are no warrants for upgrades at this time.

I strongly advise the citizens to look into this traffic calming. I know this section of street, and one reason why people speed is because it is so wide. Traffic calming can narrow it and put other measures in place that will not only slow traffic but also beautify the neighborhood. Call Tom--996-4066.

Most of these people who do this cannot see or hear anything anyways due to dark tint and loud stereos.
