There are several massive potholes on Beacon St approaching Washington St (on the "Porter Square bound" side). There is not officially a bicycle lane here, but the potholes are where cyclists typically stay on the road. Several of them are *very* deep and will pop bicycle tires and possibly toss cyclists off their bikes, into traffic. These potholes really should be patched while the weather still allows.

Hi Heather,
That's not good enough. This is a deep pothole, at least 3 or 4 inches deep, with very steep sides. If I were to hit this on my bike going 10+ MPH (which is likely if the light is green, as it's at the end of a downhill stretch) I would likely pop my tire and ruin my wheel. Oh, and get thrown from my bike, possibly over the handlebars, which is pretty painful, especially if you get thrown into a car.
I'm fine with minor potholes being fixed as construction is done. That makes sense. I'm not ok with major potholes being ignored just because the road might get torn up in a month. A major pothole is a major problem that *must* be dealt with promptly, before someone is seriously injured. With the evening commute now in the dark, fixing major potholes in or near bicycle lanes takes on an even higher priority. Sure, fixing a pothole costs money, but getting sued by an injured cyclist is going to cost a lot more.
