Our Traffic Engineer advises that the system appears to be backing out of the established timing pattern. He is working with our signal maintenance crew to determine if the problem is the result of a software or hardware issue and to then employ the appropriate measures to address the issue.
We do not currently have an estimate as to when final repairs will be completed; however, we will continue to adjust the timing at multiple times each day to minimize negative impacts until the system is once again properly functioning.

The backup is not something that can be addressed by adjusting the timing of the subject signal or that of other signals along Windward Parkway. The simple fact is that there are more cars exiting at this location than the roadway can currently handle.
The City is working with the North Fulton CID on a project that will add capacity to Windward Parkway westbound from the GA400 interchange to Deerfield Parkway (see http://northfultoncid.com/projects/windward-parkway-triple-left-turn-lane-at-georgia-400-interchange/). This project will address the backup at Exit 11.
