Description
The tree is located on the right away in front of a home on a public street that is also the entrance for a local park. Since moving to this street a few months ago I have seen several large branches fall off and onto the sidewalk, with one branch side swiping a car. The tree has several dead branches as seen in photo attached and it appears to be dying.

The Department of Public Works has provided an update on this request. The inspection for the tree in question was completed on May 22. The results of the inspection are as follows: "Over mature hornbeam, apical stem is dead and causing further dieback to crown, low risk removal."
In summary, the Arborist has determined that the tree is slated for removal; however, the safety risk to people or property is low. The Department of Public Works is currently focused on High-Risk removals causing imminent threat to people or property. Once they work through their high-risk list, they will then move onto low-risk removals. This request will remain in "in progress" status until the tree has been removed. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this response, please comment of this thread. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
