NOTIFICATION – WOODLAND DRIVE W. PAVING PROJECT
The City of Saline is utilizing Local Street Funds to perform roadway improvements which include:
Sidewalk ramp replacements
Removal of existing bituminous (asphalt) pavement and placement of new pavement
The City has contracted with D. N. Higgins of Ann Arbor, together with their subcontractors, to perform the sidewalk ramp replacement and bituminous pavement work. Midwestern Consulting of Ann Arbor will perform the construction inspection and monitoring of the project activities.
Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to contact me at 734-429-8296 ext 2222 if:
a. You would like to discuss the construction activities in more detail
b. You have any specific questions or need to discuss any transportation or delivery coordination needs
c. You have any particular operational concerns with any of the proposed construction activities
THE CONTRACTOR HAS PROVIDED THE BELOW TENTATIVE SCHEDULE TO PERFORM THE PROJECT WORK
Estimated Work Period (Weather permitting):
July 9 to July 10 Start-up, Traffic Control
July 10 to July 13 Remove ramps and prepare sub-base
July 16 to July 20 Install new sidewalk ramps
July 23 to July 27 Road closure for Milling/removal of old asphalt; paving new level and top
layers of HMA (Hot Mix Asphalt) bituminous pavement
July 30 to August 4 Restoration of lawn areas; Install pavement markings; cleanup
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING PROJECT ACTIVITIES:
Do not park vehicles on the streets or within 100 feet of the intersection of the adjacent streets during the above dates and during the construction activities
The road closure section would allow access to residential drives in the work zone
Residential lots adjacent to the 4 ramps at the Colony/Woodland intersection should flag the locations of their irrigation lines and sprinkler heads that are adjacent to curbs and sidewalks to help protect the irrigation system from possible damage. Homeowners would be responsible for the repair of irrigation system damages since private irrigation systems are not a city-owned installation.
We apologize for any inconveniences during the construction period, including dust, mud, noise and vibration. Our goal is to respond to the needs of the affected property owners throughout the construction period.
