Description
The NB Berger Rd approach should be shared left/thru and right-turn only. A lot of people turn right from NB Berger to NB/EB Snowden River.
In making this same requested previously, the County told us that the alignment of the intersection is not conducive to this change, as drivers in the left lane on the NB Berger approach would drive into the median. I disagree. I have attached a photo overlaying an extension line that could be painted to guide motorists. Even without the line painted, you can see that the angle of the line on the approach extends directly through the intersection to the left lane continuing north on Berger.
Since the signal already has one direction of Berger go at a time, changing the directions by lane would not require any changes to the signal, so this could be done fairly quickly and most likely for low cost.

Is there a place I can find the turning movement volumes at this intersection?
I am generally curious if the left-turn and through volumes are low enough to give right turns their own lane. If the signal is split so that each direction goes separately on the side streets, why not give them all a chance to turn on red?
