Description

I live on S. Willard St. and have been increasingly concerned about the difficulty of turning out onto Willard from any driveway. Because of the parked cars on the side of the street, it is difficult to see any oncoming traffic while turning out. I have witnessed a car accident as well as been hit on my bike because of this.

Moreover, the lengthy distance between crosswalks (between College and Pearl street) makes it so that people jaywalk often and cars tend to drive at faster speeds. All of this makes for a very unsafe situation.

If cars were banned from parking on the street (or at least banned from one car length adjacent to each driveway) I think the safety of this situation could be improved. Also, would it be possible to put in another crosswalk (and crosswalk lights?) on Willard between College and Pearl so people are less likely to jaywalk and cars would hopefully be more cautious?

Thank you for considering. Many of are very concerned about this matter.
