Another day, another vehicle parked on the sidewalk

I can’t believe cars do that!! Maybe call the police next time. The Wots app works well

I make frequent WOTS app reports and on more than one occasion the assigned parking officer has refused to enforce the law. We need an infrastructure fix to this issue.

Call the JCPA or JCPD.

Jeremy, I don't think it is in the JCPA or JCPD's wheelhouse to install an engineering control like I am suggesting.

Any further response from Engineering?

Another day another (3!) vehicle(s) parked on the sidewalk simultaneously. One moved before I snapped the picture and the other was out of view from the window.

When is Engineering going to provide a proper response?

I actually saw a car that was driving in front of me just casually roll onto the sidewalk and just park on Baldwin around here. I couldn’t believe it. The city needs to put something there or raise the curb that’s just not ok and clearly people know it’s not enforced so they keep doing it. I thought the city was broke and needed more money? Shouldn’t be getting $50 ticket for street sweeping and none for this

@rere: I live across the street and that is exactly what they do. Every day. I was once waiting for my Lyft on that side of the street and a driver started to this and expected me to move out of their way.

Quick correction to my earlier comment - JCPA did not refuse to enforce in this case, but the vehicle moved before an officer was assigned (>8 minutes after reporting).

Last night. JCPA refused to write a citation, claiming that they issued a warning. But the driver was not in the car and did not appear to come out when the officer was honking for their attention.

Placing this in a category for reviewing for pedestrian safety initiatives.

We will not be able to use delineators on sidewalks. They are only used in special circumstances and to make sure cars do not park close to an intersection, blocking the sight line and making it dangerous for drivers and pedestrians.

I know there was a walk through of this area a few months back and the engineers are looking at how to make this section better.

I am now going to mark this as a duplicate of another request for the intersection of Baldwin and Fleet. This does not mean that we will only focus on that intersection and not the length from Rt 139 to Fleet.

Pulling all of these issues into one, helps us review all of the issues for the area; gives a bigger impact to see all of the comments and suggestions; and allows us to update everyone in a single place.
