The existing five (5) section signal head operates in a similar manner as the four (4) section flashing yellow arrow (FYA) signal head. Both provide a permissive left turn movement while oncoming traffic has a green light. The below link is a comparitive video of how the two signals work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixhb1aEkqiA

Regardless, our records show this signal is owned by the City of Seminole and maintained by Pinellas County via contract (see attached GIS screen grab). A request to change out of these existing 5 section signal heads to a FYA signal heads would have to come from the City of Seminole as they would be responsible for all cost associated with the change out.

This issue will be reassigned to the City for thier consideration.

The City of Seminole currently has no plans to change the operation of this signal.
