It is my understanding the owners live in another state so the neighbors/neighborhood are obviously of no concern to them. I live on Glenrose Ave but within eyesight of what's left of the house. It's an eyesore & a hazard - I'm sure many rodents/animals are using it as a new home. The fact that nothing has been done to secure the dwelling/area or clean it up in over 2yrs when the "paper road" right next to it is used by many kids going to the park, to the bus & when there's snow - sledding, I know this isn't the 1st time it's been on the market or that concerns about this dwelling have been raised to the town.
Thank you for looking into this matter & hopefully having something done about it so we may once again enjoy our beautiful neighborhood.

The Town has been advised that there is a current Purchase & Sales Agreement on the property, with a proposed closing at the end of March 2023, to be followed by a full demolition of the existing structure and rebuild of a new home by the new owner.

We are now a week into May and still no activity at 79 Pleasant view Ave. Nothing indicating that it has a new owner. The town needs to take action now and rid us of this potential hazard. Waiting two and a half years and still waiting is outrageous and would never be tolerated anywhere else!

Wonder if that "proposed closing" actually happened Paul. It'd be nice if the neighborhood residents were updated once in awhile.

The property has been sold with new owner, John Mento. Mr. Mento has filed a Building Permit application to remove and replace the dwelling. Permit issuance is currently pending the receipt of the permit fee. Thereafter, once the permit fee is received, the Building permit will be issued.

This is outrageous. This house should have been torn down within a couple weeks of the fire. It has been two and one half years and the dangerous condition still has not been addressed. The town is waiting for a 'permit fee' from a 'new owner' on a property that the town said in February it had issue a 'Demolition Order' on. The town needs to have the building torn down NOW and put a lien on the property. The application that the town is waiting for a 'permit fee' on lists one person as the applicant and the owner as the people that bought the property in 1977.I cannot find any town or realtor listing showing that the property had changed ownership recently as of this morning. I do not understand that a ' DEMOLITION ORDER' is waiting on a 'Permit Fee'. The town needs to STOP WAITING and TAKE ACTION NOW!

Another month has passed and still nothing being done about the hazard at 79 Pleasant View Ave.
In February the town said it had issued a demolition order on the property. I cannot find it on the town website. The town said that the property was changing ownership by the end of March. I cannot find any indication that this has taken place. Permit applications in April list the owner and not a "new" owner. Please stop dragging your feet and make something happen! The owners are ignoring an ORDER from the town to remove this hazard. If the permit fee is the problem then the town needs to take action against the owner. The town should move forward and tear down the building and put a lien on the property.Would this be tolerated in Braintree Highlands?

The house at 79 Pleasant View Ave has finally been torn down!!! Construction is underway ridding us of this hazard and eyesore. The town of Braintree did a super job of DELAYING this for TWO and a HALF YEARS! NICE JOB BRAINTREE!
