Still no action from the water dept

We have had no more action from anyone about the flooding. This is nuts. I wish that we had some update from metro.

The last rain came and we still had flooding.

The rain Monday still caused flooding. I can't even get to my car without walking in 4 inches of water. It's over a year and still no action to fix this.

The Metro Water Services has enlarged the ditches and the pipes under the driveways. That was helpful but the water still runs over the driveway and has started to wash away the gravel that the Water Service put over the end of the driveway.

After the most recent rain so much debris was left behind at my daughter can not play in the yard until we are able to get it all out. there is plywood and debris all around the yard. There is still been no additional action from Metro Water the water needs to be diverted from our yard.

Well we are left to our own. The water department says that the run off is because we are in a flood zone. Funny thing is that the flood comes from a drainage pipe that comes under the railroad tracks behind our house. The water department has said they are working on a development project but that has been years. The guy that did the survey knows the guy next door by name. Maybe the should use a different guy for the survey. So we still get a foot of water every time it rains.

Update by Metro Water Services' Stormwater Maintenance Section : In the Fall 2013, MWS replaced driveway pipes at two addresses and performed ditchwork along the properties to help drain the water from the roadside ditch. However, the 1159 Antioch Pike property is surrounded by the Mill Creek Floodzone. Flooding in and around Floodzones is typical and usually can not be prevented due to the elevation of the properties. The property is extremely flat and is at the location where a pipe under railroad tracks discharges. The house is basically located in a low spot and is like a detention area that receives stormwater discharge from the area.

Without the discharge pipe that drains into the yard the changes that metro water made would have been effective. As far as Mill Creek if we were affected by it as much as is being portrayed by metro we would have flooded out during the big flood of 2010.

This has been going on for more than 7 years and there has been nothing done to correct this. My yard has trash and oils from the parking lots on the other side of the railroad tracks. This is a health hazard for my two daughters that are under 5 years old that want to play in the yard. Why does Metro Water not care to fix this?

There still has been no change in years. The problem has boiled down to water that is run under the railway behind our house. It just runs straight into our yard carrying all kinds of trash including very dangerous needles.
