We went out and checked out this and we weren't able to find anything wrong.

There is something wrong. The city was doing work in the alley at the manhole. Material was scraped up from behind the houses to the east of mine and piled up around the manhole. The level of this is higher than the alley behind my house, thus creating a dam. The water runs from east to west down the alley. Now that that new work is higher than the alley behind my house, water is going to pool up and run into my yard. The alley water has always been an issue behind my house. I’ve owned the house since 2007. The work you did is going to make it worse. I’ve had to spend a lot of my own money to deal with this on my own property. I cannot raise the level of my property because of the foundation of my house. The proper way to fix the issue you tried to fix is to lower the manhole cover and the level of the alley, not pile it up and make it higher down stream from my house.
