Description

I rent a room with no lease since December 1st, 2022 but my landlord has not fixed the toilet which gets clogged every time we use the restroom. Also, on April 27th, 2023 I told her I saw a bedbug and she closed her door on my face and just told me to tell everyone (other tenants) in the to clean, I told her that wouldn't go away with just cleaning and closed the door on my face again. Later on that day when I went to go cook I noticed we had not hot water, I texted her and she did not reply, I then proceeded to call her and she told me she forgot to tell us that she had to change the gas bill under her name because it was under someone else's name and the gas company told her it would be ready after 3 hours. I asked her why she didn't tell us and she hung up on my face. We live on the third floor there are kids in the apartment including a newborn. She said we would have heat Friday April 28th, 2023 by noon and that never happened. We told her about the hot water again and she just ignored us. We were not aware that there was no hot water on the 1st and 2nd floors. There are kids on the 2nd floor too. She lives in the 1st floor, she left the premises to sleep somewhere else where she had heat. Later that Friday we called the police because it was very cold and we did not get an answer from her, we also found out that one of the kids from the 2nd floor has to get retested for lead poisoning. She keeps on telling us that if we're not happy we can leave and says that we called the police and we don't even imagine that it could be worse for us for doing that. She then said that we would have to wait until Monday May 1st, of 2023 but now says that we have to wait until Tuesday May 2nd because today is international employers day. She keep on antagonizing me for trying to tell the other tenants that we can all go to the city and not to be scared because they are immigrants and she is taking advantage of their situation.
