Great. I will do that. This has been on the city’s transportation improvement plan since 2017. Multiple subdivisions and parks have been developed since then, substantially increasing road traffic (especially large construction vehicles which put stress and degrade the road quality) and decreasing public safety, while the city has been continually putting off responsibility and relying on developers to improve safety. Not only is there no sidewalk, curb, or gutter, there are no lights in these most dangerous stretches of road. According to the 2023-2028 TIP the city did not plan on doing anything until 2027 (10 years on the improvement plan with no improvement), but in the 2024-2029 plan, there is nothing funded or planned for the project. It appears the city has no plans of funding or executing this proposal.

Better yet: Why doesn't the CITY do something about this rather than just include it on their "Sidewalk Priority List?" Submitting a public records request does nothing to remedy this public safety hazard. The CITY had no problem when they pushed through 218th Ave. SE from E Main Street to SE 1st Street over 20 years ago, allowing the developments that they permitted, increasing this traffic flow. Big Rock park and the proposed Beaton Hill park developments just exacerbate this situation. Further studies of this area are pointless. Action is needed now.

The cost of four roundabouts in a half mile stretch of road (SE 4th) adjacent to the area which we refer to highlights the mismanagement of funds and priorities. While I am sure those roundabouts will be useful as the city overdevelops the land along SE 4th Street, it means the city of Sammamish has spent more than $21m and cannot fund improvements the public has been asking for many many years.
