Description
In desperate need of speed and traffic control. The amount of aggressive drivers and accidents is out of control on this road. Vehicles swerve over double lines into other lane to pass other vehicles, including school buses that stop along this road. Its also dangerous waiting to turn out onto Jones Franklin Rd due to speeding and cars crossing into other lanes. There are a lot of residents along this road; which includes pedestrians walking and children who wait for bus stops along this road.

I concur!!! I have filed a similar complaint about the Denise Dr/Jones Franklin intersection. Unfortunate the tone of reply I got from the city distilled to "not enough people have died yet", in my opinion.
Today it took me nearly 4 minutes to make a left turn on to Jones Franklin from Denise Dr. And to do it I finally made a right, then held up outbound traffic until I could turn left into a parking lot, turn around and make another right out of the parking lot to go the direction I really wanted to go.

I do the exact same thing about twice a day trying to turn out of Wayne St onto Jones Franklin. I call it the Jones Franklin Shuffle!! There is no turning lane at my street so other people get very angry when I am holding up traffic forever to turn left. They honk, yell, and swerve around into ditches & across yellow lines into other lane.
This road is a disaster and very unsafe!!

All I know at this point is based on phone conversations about a year ago. At that time:
1) City of Raleigh had Jones Franklin on about a 10 year horizon for upgrades. :(
2) NC DOT had I-440 on a 5 year horizon for widening which will:
a) Require replacing the bridge over I-440
b) Likely force the entrances to Waters Edge (office park), Sumter Square (apartments) and Capital Center (offices) to move further away from the interchange with I-440. I am aware of surveys to extend Capital Center Dr out to JF parallel to Denise Dr, but nobody I have found seems to know exactly what is being planned or when it will happen.
I have posted almost this exact same issue before hoping that the city would take pity on us and put in a new light or two, but they do not seem willing to do it.
