Description
This intersection is quite dangerous and should have a 4-way stop sign. I have witnessed multiple accidents in my 2 years living in the Chowen Park neighborhood. The intersection is a blind spot crossing Xerxes from the Minneapolis side due to parked cars on the street. From the Edina side the intersection is dangerous in the winter because of the hill going down towards the stop sign. I have slipped into the intersection twice last winter, and since avoid the intersection altogether.

Hello Neighbor,
Thank you for submitting your request for all-way stop controls at W 58th St and Xerxes Ave along the Edina/Minneapolis Border.
Stop signs were designed to control vehicle right-of-way at intersections. If they are installed in areas that don't meet warrants, they can have the adverse affect towards safety at an intersection.
What makes this intersection unique is Xerxes Ave is owned and maintained by Hennepin County and changing traffic control along Xerxes requires review by the County. Edina and Minneapolis can provide input regarding traffic controls, depending if warrants are met.
Hennepin County will be sent this request for review. Once I have an update from County staff, you will be contacted with an update.
Feel free to contact me directly with my information provided below.
Best,
