This project appears close to completion. As previously noted, now our streets are full of poorly filled and patched potholes and open cuts. Are we going to have to live with these road conditions, or is there another overlay planned in the near future to repair the mess that is left remaining?
A response to this open issue would be appreciated please.

Public Works MOC Admin assigned this issue to City Engineer

All streets that are newly paved and under 5 years old will require a permanent patch and mill and overlay a minimum of 50' in length. The mill and overlay can not be done until the first week of April because of weather limitations between Oct. 1st and march 31st. The contractor is responsible for any harm done to existing utilities. Thanks

I appreciate the responses from the Construction Inspector and City Engineer for these road issues (referring also to issue #15929718).

Additionally:

1) I would like to have some kind of response or plan given to the two road crossings of the septic effluent lines which need some kind of physical markers placed for future reference. This needs to be coordinated with King County Public Health. Only drainfield easements are shown on the maps I have discovered (see drawing 76-456).

2) Regarding the plan to mill and overlay a minimum of 50' in length: Considering the multiple areas that have been potholed, the open cut that was approved on NE 1st Street, and the damage that was done a couple of years ago at the hairpin turn on NE 1st Street by the City's snow plow, the "patches" that are described above are not enough. Another complete overlay should be done, including making sure that the bases (City right-of-ways) of our driveways do not become areas where water pools, as has happened the last time this was paved.

I find it disconcerting that this request, along with numerous others made by myself and others get "closed" without any remedial action or an explaination other than "it has been referred to the proper officials." What is being done about these issues?

In this case, the newest paint markings on our road seem to indicate that only half of the road will be overlayed, potentially making worse the puddling that occurs already.

This See-Click-Fix website is useless and I am tempted to discuss these concerns with other City officials to find answers to these questions unless this website starts giving some real answers to these issues.
