Description
Typical Monday, come home from work and pull into the alley and have to get out and move trash cans in order to get to my driveway. Most people just drive around the trash cans and off of the gravel portion into the grass and end up starting what will eventually become a pothole. Why does one city department cause a different department more issues when the trash cans should be pushed out of the alley and help cut down on the potholes. The city departments should work as a team. The city should also require property owners to keep their brush from growing into the alleyway, as this also ends up starting potholes as people drive around.

LOL,
How long have you been living in Bellevue? This is an happenstance every week, at least in my alley and always has been. Most of this is the fault of the homeowner not the city. Trash cans were never supposed to be left in the alley, but most homeowners leave them out there for pickup. As far as bushes, that has always been the responsibility of the homeowner to keep it cut back out of the alley right of way, however not well enforced by the city.

I have lived here for 20 years. There were actually 3 cans blocking the alley yesterday.
Moving the cans to get down the alley is not a big deal, people going around them to get by and causing a pothole to form is what I'm concerned about. It took a year and a half to get the city out here last time to deal with the potholes last summer.
