Description

When the train is coming and stopping traffic on 2nd St, this intersection regularly gets completely blocked by cars that enter the intersection travelling east on 2nd, without being able to exit on the other side. This causes cars that want to continue straight on Lincoln to drive on the wrong side of the road, over double yellow lines to get round the cars blocking 2nd st. This morning, impatient drivers were driving on the wrong side all the way from the Bio Marin crosswalk - an accident is inevitable.

A solution seems easy - when a train is coming, switch the eastbound light on 2nd St at Lincoln to red earlier, allowing any bad drivers that block the intersection time to clear out the other side. Also signage and traffic enforcement would help. This has been reported many times over many years and nothing has changed.
