Why are there no crosswalk lines at this intersection? It seems to me there should be, but aren’t.

If the answer is you’re waiting for the road to be redone can we also plan to have the sidewalk brought up so that the road has to rise cross it and the slowing traffic? Like they do in Amsterdam .
